Christmas Eve gift!
As a child, my mother always woke Maggie and me on the 24th saying, "Christmas Eve gift". She explained Christmas day you wish everyone a Merry Christmas so the day before deserved a special something too.
Emma's first Christmas Eve began early at Nana and Poppy's. After a long night before, we all slept well and deep until Emma's morning bottle. She woke, took a bottle, changed and we all fell back to sleep for another couple of hours. Once she has that first bottle of the day, I always put her in the bed with me for that morning nap. This day was like the rest. Emma Grace snuggled right between her daddy and me. What seemed like a minute later, I woke up to a sweet little hand tapping my face. What a sweet Christmas Eve gift it was.
When we finally crawled out of the bed, we joined Nana and Poppy in the living room. Josh read the story of Jesus' birth and then gifts were given. Such a lovely (first) Christmas Eve morning.
