First Shots

Yesterday (October 25) Emma had her eight week wellness visit.  She is now 11.6 lbs (80%) and 22.75 inches long (75%).  Dr. Denney said she is growing like a two month old should be growing - that Emma is actually tall for her age.  I joked about Josh and me being short.  Dr. Denney said Emma would most likely slow down and stop growing so quickly after a while.  I found it humorous - our families are pretty short!

Unfortunately, part of the eight week visit is getting shots.  Emma had her DTaP/Hep B/Polio shot and two Meningitis shots.  They also gave her liquid by mouth to prevent an awful stomach virus.  Never in my life have I heard a baby scream at that decibel - broke my heart.  She cried and cried but calmed quickly.  She was so brave!  Thankfully, the worst is over.  She just has one more shot in January and the chicken pox vaccination at her one year wellness visit.  Emma (and mama) will be so glad when they all are over!
