Babymoon

A babymoon was something I read about early on in my pregnancy.  It's a last planned trip, in a sense, for the couple.  Josh and I knew with our busy work schedules that taking off wouldn't be an option at the time.  A babymoon trip is usually taken during the second trimester - during the energy boosting period of pregnancy.  We just didn't get the opportunity.

Less than a week before Emma is born and we decide to have a babymoon.  Obviously, we couldn't travel.  Instead we dedicated this past weekend to ourselves and called it our babymoon.  We did nothing extravagant - things we usually do actually.  We just knew that this would be the last time we would do these normal things without an infant or without having to get a sitter first.

We soaked everything in as went to town using the remains of our gift cards to get the last minute things we needed.  We even had dinner out paid for by a gift card!  We slept in late and took a long afternoon nap.  We fully indulged in relaxation and rest.  Josh was even unplugged (no cell phone or emailing) the entire weekend!

These last few weeks have been overwhelming and stressful preparing everything for the big change coming.  It was the exact time we needed together before Emma enters our world full time.  We are thankful for this past weekend and the two years we've spent married - just us.  Now it is time for the next chapter as we bring into the world life of a beautiful little girl.  I can say now more than ever we are ready.  As ready as new parents can be :D

Thank you, God for the many blessings in our little lives.
